In the Budo Hiketsu-aiki no jutsu (1899) it states 'The most profound and mysterious art in the world is the art of aiki. This is the secret principle of all the martial arts in Japan. One who masters it can be an unparalleled martial genius.' This we have witnessed in Morihei Ueshiba and his creation of Aikido. To grasp the essence of aikido this intensive will be limited in number and emphasize personal training and include discussion of the principle of Aiki. The Okugyo training will emphasize the spiritual as well as the physical aspects of aikido. Students will participate in daily meditation, reading and discussion, and other activities designed to help the student move towards an integrated understanding of Aikido. It has long been my goal to create an environment for this kind of personal training. Okugyo seminars will not make any distinction between affiliation or rank, but will be open to all who approach it with a sincere and humble attitude. Please join Gleason Sensei and Jay Weik Sensei at our Aikido retreat.
