We are pleased to announce that the Shambhala Sadhana Retreat will be held at Dorje Denma Ling on Sunday April 15, led by Acharya Jeremy Hayward. The Shambhala Sadhana Retreat is open to all who have received the Shambhala Vow and the Enlightened Society Vow.
The vows will be offered by Acharya Hayward on Saturday, April 14, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Unlike at the Lineage Festival in September 2011, on this occasion these vows will be offered only to those who have attended the Enlightened Society Assembly (Sutrayana Seminary) or Vajrayana Seminary, or those who have satisfied the prerequisites for the Enlightened Society Assembly and plan to attend this year. If you plan to take the vows, please register for them separately, here on our website, so we know how many people to prepare for.
The Sadhana Retreat will be over a full day, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by a celebratory dinner at 5:30. From 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 there will be talk on sadhana in general, followed by the lung for this Sadhana. At 10:00 we will watch a recording of the talk on this Sadhana given by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche on March 18. In the afternoon we will practice the sadhana together. This will be followed by a discussion and a further practice session, concluded by a feast.
There are two tuition levels for the program: $50 and $35. Please choose the tuition level that is right for you. Note: Scorpion Seal practitioners who received the lung for the Shambhala Sadhana in 2011 may choose to attend only the Sakyong's talk at 10:30 AM. The price for this option is $25.
Accommodations will be available in Gyatso Lodge for $30/night. Please tell us in the comment field of your registration if you need lodging, and if so, for how many nights.
There is no materials fee for this program; you may purchase a copy of the sadhana in the gift shop if you would like.
Please register if you plan to attend. We look forward to seeing you soon.
