Seeking New Director for Dorje Denma Ling

Executive Director of Dorje Denma LingNEW Job Description1

Shambhala is seeking a new Executive Director for Dorje Denma Ling, our retreat center in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Would you like to lead a Shambhala land centre with the monarch’s view of the ocean, vast sky and peaceful forest surrounding the land where Drala and Werma gather? Nova Scotia is the very place that Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche chose to be the heart home of the Shambhala community and Dorje Denma Ling manifests that heart.

If you are interested in this opportunity, have confidence to go beyond hesitation and click on the link below for more information.

Ms. Heather Scott will be retiring from her post before Shambhala day 2019. Her three-year tenure officially ends in October, but she has generously offered to stay on a bit longer to insure a smooth transition.  Due to her intelligence and vision and the continuing support of the sangha and staff, Dorje Denma Ling now is on more stable financial ground, and has developed both a sustainable staffing model and a workable plan to be closed during the winter season.

Moving forward, the next Executive Director ideally will have:

➢A minimum of six years’ experience as a practitioner on the Shambhala path including having attended:

  • Sacred World Assembly/Vajrayana Seminary
  • Rigden Abhisheka
  • Preferably one or more Scorpion Seal Retreats.

➢A strong background in leadership, including:

  • Familiarity with community engagement processes, group work and decision-making.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with conflict in ways that inspire and experience with working with transitions of all kinds.
  • Demonstrated people, project and financial management skills and experience.
