June Crow

In 1968, June Crow began her study and practice of Buddhism when she met Suzuki Roshi, a Soto Zen Roshi. During an intensive training session at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, she met Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, of the Tibetan Kagyü and Nyingma Lineage, and became his student from 1970 to 1987.  During that time she taught at a Vajradhatu Seminary, a three month-long practice and study intensive, lived 2 years at Karmê Chöling, a Buddhist Contemplative Center in the United States, was Head of Practice and Study at the Halifax Shambhala Center in Canada, and became a senior meditation instructor and teacher.

Following the Parinirvana of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, June has studied with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and Dzogchen Pönlop Rinpoche.  In 1996 she received training in Buddhist philosophy and practice and was a senior teacher of the foundation curriculum at Nitartha Institute. Since 2010, June has been a student of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche and is furthering her understanding and practice of the Tibetan Kagyü, Nyingma and Rimé tradition.

June has led month-long dathüns at Karmê Chöling Retreat Center in the US, Cholqui Institute in Chile and more recently at Deer Park, Bir, India.
