Re-awakening the Vision and Practice of KOS

April 17th—April 19th

Date details +

It's been more than 40 years since the Druk Sakyong first invited his students to join him in establishing a homeland for Shambhala. This weekend will celebrate our shared heritage as Lodge members, and explore our understanding of and commitment to the vision of the Kingdom of Shambhala.

We will begin this exploration by going back to square one. We will study the vision and practice as originally presented by the Druk Sakyong, examining original documents and listening to interviews and lectures.

Then we ask, “What was our individual response to that request?  How has this affected our life's journey?   What more do we think needs to be done? ”

This weekend offers an opportunity to explore our mutual connection to each other and the mindstream of the Druk Sakyong. We’ll practice werma, lungta and stroke, and have ample group discussion with room for debate.

Our aspiration is to clarify the view and practice of KOS together, and thus inspire subjects to gather again – whether at Dorje Denma Ling or local centers -- to share and celebrate the myriad ways in which we have turned these teachings into action.

This program is open to members of the Kalapa Lodge, or to those who have received KOS transmission.

Dorje Denma Ling has a large daily overhead that we would like to cover whenever possible. However, we do not want to turn anyone away who wishes to come because of financial considerations. If the In-House Retreat prices or Shrine Room floor option shown below won't work for you, please email Guest Services with the amount you would be able to pay, and we'll adjust your Guest Statment to reflect that price.

We would like you to spend the weekend with us, but if you can only attend one day, please register and leave a comment indicating which day we should expect you. We will adjust your Guest Statement accordingly.
