You may recall that we had started raising money for a solar panel array that would allow us to replace our oil-fired heating systems, go all-electric, and produce enough electricity to meet our annual energy needs. Due to the size of the array needed, however, the cost of that project is now $240,000. We have raised $20,000 to date. While we look forward to continuing that initiative in the near future, as we need to raise a significant sum to fund this project, and are now focusing on finding a number of major donors who could get us closer to that amount before we resume public fundraising for it. Your help is much needed and appreciated, especially during these post-covid economic times when costs are escalating at an unprecedented rate. Our oil costs alone have increased 2-3 times the level they were in 2021. Converting to a solar-supported, renewable electricity-operated system will greatly assist us in keeping programs and retreats reasonably priced.
