
Ringu Tulku Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist teacher of the Kagyu lineage, respected for his clarity, warmth, and depth of understanding. Trained by many leading masters of the 20th century, including the 16th Karmapa and Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, he has been teaching Buddhism internationally since 1990. Rinpoche is the founder of Bodhicharya, a network dedicated to Dharma activity, education, and social action. Before leaving Tibet, the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche received many direct pith instructions from his teacher Khenpo Gangshar. Some of these took place in a heightened environment where the teacher is willing to do anything it takes to help wake up the student. Chögyam Trungpa wrote three inner autobiographies about these transmissional and transformative times with his teacher. In one of them he describes how Khenpo Gangshar taught him to teach in the future, giving him very direct and profound meditation instructions, including pointing out the nature of mind.
