Ecology and Social Change: Applied Insights from the Natural World
with Acharya Martin Janowitz
It is becoming more and more accepted that the best examples of systems that are resilient, adaptive and evolving towards their next best future are found in nature. We live in an interconnected world where societies and natural systems both share many attributes and challenges. How do we play constructive roles as activists, citizens and spiritually engaged practitioners. This weekend will build on a foundational weekend shared at Denma Ling last May. This experiential weekend will include guided meditation and contemplations both on our seats and wandering amidst the natural beauties of Denma Ling and a series of talks with ample time for discussion, dialogue and investigating our collective wisdom. The practice, discussions and ideas from this gathering are intended to stimulate and challenge us to engage powerfully and creatively in the emergence of a truly sustainable and basically good world.
This event will be led by Marty Janowitz. During the past 20+ years Marty Janowitz has been involved with fellow Nova Scotians in efforts to realize the shared aspiration of a decent and flourishing society noted for its integrated environmental, social and economic vitality. Full program tuition plus accommodations: $240 We invite all who are able to do so to pay the full tuition rate. By doing so, you make it possible for us to offer scholarships to others, while also covering the direct cost of your stay here and contributing to our year round operations. Interest free payment plans for 6 months are an option for those who choose this tuition level.
Discounted program tuition plus accommodations: $180 If the full tuition is unworkable for you, please pay the discounted rate if you can. By doing so you contribute towards the cost of your being here and everything it takes to keep DDL operating year-round.
Discounted tuition plus payment plan $30/month: If having 6 months to pay makes the discounted tuition possible for you, please choose this interest free option. The payments would be $27 per month for tuition; if you add lodging to the payment plan it would be $38/month.
Please Note: Above price includes meals but not accommodations. For winter programs, double and triple rooms with shared hallway bathrooms are available in Gyatso Lodge for $45 per night, so for this program the lodging cost would be an additional $90. Huts and Cabins are not available as lodging options for winter programs.
All program costs at Dorje Denma Ling are workable. With either of the tuition choices above, we can provide a payment plan of up to 6 months, and we also match all scholarships that local Shambhala Centers grant to help their members attend programs. If you have any questions about the financial aid or payment plans, please contact us at 902-657-9085 or via email at [email protected] at least two weeks before the program begins.
